Kanayi Kanam is a little stream with modest waterfalls that flows through dense forest-like flora. Kanayi kanam is located in Kanayi village, around 12 km from Payyanur in Kerala's Kannur state. With fresh water and vegetation all around, the mood is really pleasant. A little lake is hidden beneath a dense canopy of Madhuca trees and 'Chedavally' (Dalbergia horrida), a climbing plant with sharp curved thorns. A tiny waterfall drops into the lake and goes a few km downstream to Vannathippuzha.
